If your New Year's resolution involved cleaning out and getting rid of "stuff" you can show us something good.....
It is still a sad fact that too many babies are born prematurely, or suffer from birth defects. The March of Dimes is working very hard on lifesaving research, but they also provide education and innovative programs for babies and their families when they need it most.
It is also a sad fact that just about everyone knows a child or a family that has been impacted by premature birth or birth defects.
Stephanie S's son was born with multiple birth defects and has residual effects from them on a daily basis, they received so much support from the March of Dimes that it has become one of Stephanie's missions to give back to the people that have given them hope.
She holds a yearly garage sale with all proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes. She also walks yearly with a group of friends and family in the annual March of Dimes walk in Forest Park. (This year's walk will take place on April 24th, 2010)
Any items not sold at the garage sale are donated to Loaves and Fishes, a homeless shelter and food pantry located in St. Louis.
Donations of your unwanted items are needed to make this a success. Stephanie will come and pick up so you don't even need to leave your house!
Please email me at MicheleLFelton@aol.com or leave a comment here if you need more information or if you have items to donate.
